  1. This cab company is the worst piece of crap company on the planet. Considering I've traveled all over the world, I can honestly say, the customer service is deplorable at best. Glad you're not the only game in town. F..k off!!!

    RECOMMENDATION: Do not use Yellow Cab. Seriously. Otherwise you might not even get a taxi.

    This is an exact transcript of my call with Yellow Cab.

    HIM: Yellow Cab.
    ME: Hi. My taxi's 10 minutes late and he hasn't shown up yet.
    HIM: What's the address?
    ME: (address)
    HIM: He's on his way.
    ME: Can you get an ETA from him?
    HIM: He's a few minutes away.
    ME: Problem is, I have a flight and I'm late to the airport.
    (So far, the entire discussion was cordial until this point.)
    HIM (yelling): WE'RE DOING OUR BEST! THERE'S A BLIZZARD OUT! (pauses 3 seconds) Rude. (hangs up)

    What I fail to understand is how I was rude, particularly since the call was entirely cordial between both of us up until he snapped for some bizarre reason. There was no blizzard, but it was indeed snowing outside.

    The cabbie never showed up by the way, because I didn't get any call from them. My theory is that when he snapped, he thought he'd stick it to me by telling the driver that the call was cancelled without letting me know. Fortunately, I was smart enough to call a friend to come pick me up.

    This is the last time I call Yellow Cab.

  9. ETA will allow the customers to find the closest available limo cab service and will eliminate the problem of two or three cabs from different companies going to the same address. This should greatly reduce the dreaded no-go, free up more cabs to pick up more orders and lead to better coverage in the neighborhoods.

  27. I called around 2:00 pm to arrange for a cab at 9:00 pm the same day. The rude operator told me to call back 45 minutes before I needed the cab because of the weather (it was snowing constantly the entire day). I called back at 8:15 pm and requested the cab to arrive at 9:00 pm. At 9:25 pm the cab had not arrived so I called the dispatch number and no one picked up. I called again five minutes later and someone answered, said nothing and immediately hung up. I found a way to my destination and received a call from the dispatch number at 10:05 pm, presumably to tell me that my cab arrived. I didn't answer. Suffice it to say, I'll never call Yellow Cab again.

    1. We are trying to get to a place where we no longer have these issues. In the next couple weeks our system will update, a passenger app will be available, and I've fired the entire dispatch staff replacing them with a wonderful set of individuals whose level of professionalism even the most discriminating of customers will appreciate. I apologize for the tardiness and rudeness of our people. Give us another shot in a while here and see the change, come back and let me know what you think.

  28. I was visiting Grand Rapids from Chicago and needed a cab to take me to my destination. I called yellow cab and was greeted with a disrespectful and arrogant dispatcher. Not only did they refuse to send a cab to my location. They suggested I go outside and find a cab. I was not in a densely populated area and I was unfamiliar with my surroundings; which was precisely why I was calling a cab in the first place. Needless to say I used another cab company who was much more professional and provided me with the service requested. I advise anyone travelling in the Grand Rapids area to avoid calling yellow cab. Their lack of professionalism and poor customer service is unlike anything I have ever experienced before

  33. The fact that this blog says reliable is the biggest joke. Told me 25 minutes for a cab and after waiting an hour called to see what the hold up was. After being hung up on three times by the incredibly rude dispatcher I gave up. Lost mine and everyone I knows business.

We are switching things up here (management changes as well as entire new way of handling the dispatching--moving to automation and even a passenger app to bypass the entire dispatch process!) and would love it if you gave us another chance. Watch this site for more info about when we go live with the app (a couple weeks yet). Again, my deepest apologies for the horrible experience.
